The special design of the splitting device enables logs to be split regardless of length and diameter. The splitting wedge is driven by the oil piston from the lateral surface into the log, while the opposing force is absorbed by the chisel edge penetrating the front surface of the log. In the case of fibrous wood and long trunks, the device can be applied crosswise (see image on the left). This allows the gap to be widened to a width of 220 mm as often as you like. By using the portable device, the splitting of pulpwood can be made much easier and faster. The more difficult it is to split crowns or trunk sections, the more economical the use of the device. The pieces to be split are divided once or several times in their respective position on the ground, as required.
To attach the splitting device to the agricultural tractor or Unimog, 2 hydraulic connections are required on the tractor side. It is important to ensure that one connection is depressurized (return). The forward and backward stroke of the splitting device can be controlled via the control valve attached to the handle on the cylinder side. To protect all components, a pressure relief valve is installed in the hose connection at the factory, which limits the oil pressure to 150 bar. The 10 meter long hose connection between the tractor and the splitting device allows sufficient freedom of movement for the operator.
