Twin Turbo 7.3L Ford Powerstroke Diesel Tractor - RDZ Machines

Twin Turbo 7.3L Ford Powerstroke Diesel Tractor

There are two types of people in this world. Some people enjoy the flashy, wild stuff found at SEMA and some people don’t. If you don’t like the SEMA-style builds but you do like tractors, you may change your mind just this once. Brian Rogers, C.E.O. at Firewire LED’s, recently made a statement on his Facebook page stating, “I’ve never built anything for myself to take to SEMA. Mostly because it’s really hard to find something that hasn’t been done. But not this year.” Yeah, Umm, this is probably one of the most different things we will have ever seen at this show. Brian’s build is definitely one of a kind. In fact, he doesn’t even know how the idea came about. “I have no idea how this came to mind. I don’t even know how this was a possibility. Here is the rendering for the build and we leave for Vegas in 31 days,” Brian said. So, what is it? This is a 1948 Ford 8N tractor that Brian’s great grandfather bought brand new. They use this tractor every day on the farm. It was the first vehicle that Brian ever drove, and he now has this off-the-wall idea to stuff an old-school 7.3-liter Power Stroke in it. “I had the crazy idea for a 7.3 engine and of course [I have] to use twin turbos,” Brian said. “I mean, it is SEMA, so we had to go big. Since the factory wheels on the rear were 28×10, we went with a set of TIS 28×16. The obvious tire choice was 44-inch Interco Boggers.” Keep in mind, this is only a rendering, but if it is finished and looks even remotely close to this, all we can say is, wow. This has to be one of the coolest tractors ever. I don’t know about you, but the first thing I would do is hook it to a sled and hear that 7.3 scream! Stay tuned as we are still getting more details about this rowdy 8N, but we will have more as soon as we can!
